Clay County Sheriff Terry Miller Reports:
On Thursday, July 14th, 2016 at approximately 5:00 pm, Clay County Deputies conducted a routine traffic stop on a motorcycle driving hazardously in Greenway. Driver of the motorcycle, Daniel Hall, 24 years old of Piggott, attempted to evade officer’s pursuits but came to a stop on First Street in Greenway. Mr. Hall was arrested at this time for driving on a suspended driver’s license. Upon booking at the Clay County Detention Center, jailers alerted deputies to a canister found on Mr. Hall’s person that contained several pills, later identified as Xanax. Clay County Deputies contacted Campbell Police Department K-9 for a perimeter check of Mr. Hall’s motorcycle. Campbell Police K-9, Titus, alerted on several of the motorcycles compartments. Clay County Deputies then obtained a search warrant on the motorcycle to check for illegal narcotics. During the search officers located small bags containing 3 grams of suspected methamphetamines. Daniel Hall is currently being held at the Clay County Detention Center on the charges of Driving on Suspended Driver’s License, no proof of liability insurance, Fleeing, Possession of a Controlled Substance without a Prescription, Furnishing Prohibited Articles, Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute, and Felony Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Clay County Sheriff’s Department wants to give special thanks to Campbell Police Chief Tony Burke and K-9 Titus, as well as the Piggott Police Department, for their assistance.
