Clay County Sheriff Terry Miller Reports:
On June 28th at approximately 9:41 pm Clay County K9 Unit assisted Piggott Police Officers on a routine traffic stop. The operator of the motorcycle, Scott Book 38-year-old of Blytheville Arkansas, was shown to be driving on a suspended driver’s license. Piggott Officers requested the K9 Marko check the motorcycle for any illegal items. K9 Marko conducted a perimeter sniff of the motorcycle and alerted on the trunk of the bike 3 times, indicating the odor of narcotics. A closer search of the truck revealed a glass smoking pipe with suspect methamphetamine residue, several small tubes used for ingesting methamphetamines, and a set of digital scales. Mr. Book was then placed into custody and transported to the Clay County Detention Center on the charges of Possession of drug paraphernalia, Driving on a suspended driver’s license, No proof of liability insurance, and Defective vehicle equipment. Mr. Book is being held at the Clay County Detention Center on a $2,500 bond.
